Global Collaboration Project
JDO Foundation Global Collaboration Project
Since 2016, St. Peter's has been involved with the JDO Foundation Global Collaboration Program. The program pairs classrooms (students ages 8-14 years) from around the world to collaborate through the innovative and creative use of technology. The JDO Foundation's mission is, " enabling students to become accomplished, well-informed digital citizens... (And) to have these learning experiences transcend geographic, socioeconomic, and religious parameters."
JDO has classes from the following countries taking part; the UK, Northern Ireland, Wales, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Croatia, Macedonia, Poland, India, Brazil, Uganda, Greece and the USA.
Children in Year 4 and 5 have been partnered with children from the USA and Spain and have used their 1:1 technology to have regular communication with their international peers. The program has been extremely successful in developing children's technological understanding, knowledge of other cultures and ability to work collaboratively.
