Vacancy for classteacher for 1 term from September to cover Maternity leave

Class Teacher

Required for September 2024

Fixed Term for 1 term to cover a period of Maternity Leave.

At St Peter’s we focus on the characteristics of effective learning and the children’s eagerness to be independent in their own learning. The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification and will be subject to the relevant pre-employment checks which will, where applicable, include a health check, an enhanced DBS check, the Children’s Barred List check and satisfactory references.

 

Essential educational requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status within a primary school setting (or expected completion date for ITT students)
  • Commitment to the ethos and values of a Catholic school
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

 

 

Essential skills and experience

  • Strong subject knowledge and an awareness of good primary practice
  • A firm knowledge and understanding of current educational thinking and the national curriculum
  • A willingness to develop professional expertise through professional development
  • An understanding of effective assessment, record keeping and target setting.
  • A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all children, including child protection
  • Able to plan for progression across the ability range designing effective learning through a series of lessons.
  • High expectations of pupil achievement
  • Ability to use a range of teaching strategies and provide opportunities for all children to experience success.
  • A good understanding of a range of behaviour management strategies
  • Ability to work effectively within a range of teams, teaching and non-teaching.
  • Ability to create a stimulating learning environment that enhances learning.
